Jalen Tolbert is a wide receiver with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He stands 1.85 m tall and weighs 91 kg. In high school, he participated in football, basketball, and baseball at McGill-Toolen Catholic. By the end of his senior year, he had 37 receptions for 696 yards and nine touchdowns.
When he was a two-star prospect, he committed to play collegiate football for Jacksonville State, but he finally chose to enroll at the University of South Alabama. He took part in South Alabama’s collegiate football program as a South Alabama Jaguar. He redshirted his true freshman year after suffering a knee injury in preseason training camp.
He made his starting debut as a redshirt sophomore and finished the year with 27 receptions for 521 yards and six touchdowns. As a redshirt junior, he caught 64 receptions for 1,085 yards, both school records, and eight touchdowns, earning him first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors.
In 2021, after breaking his own school records with 82 receptions for 1,474 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, he was once more awarded first-team All-Sun Belt and the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year. He earned a degree in leisure studies in May 2021 and is currently pursuing an additional degree in interdisciplinary studies. Dallas Cowboys selected Tolbert in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
