Ja’Marcus Ingram, a cornerback from the University of Buffalo, has joined the Bills, making a total of four players who participated in the weekend rookie minicamp who have signed contracts.
Ingram, who transferred from Texas Tech to the University of Buffalo, produced 47 tackles in his lone season there, 2.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and three pass breakups last fall.
Ingram, who is listed at 6 feet 2 inches tall and 190 pounds, played in 21 games for Texas Tech and recorded 31 tackles, an interception, and two pass breakups. He started his undergraduate career at Utah State, where he played for two years and made starts in 15 of 19.
After graduating from high school in Dallas, Ja’Marcus Ingram received no scholarship offers. He was forced to continue on to Utah State on his own dime and pay for his first year of education.
He ended his collegiate career as a full-time starting cornerback at the University at Buffalo last season after spending two years as a starter at Utah State and two years as a backup at Texas Tech.
Ingram claimed that when the Buffalo Bills extended an offer to him following a two-day rookie minicamp test last month, it was the conclusion of a dream that he had fought to maintain along a difficult path.
