James Cook is a running back in American football who competes for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. On September 25, 1999, he was born in Miami, Florida, in the United States.
James Cook participated in football for Miami Central Senior High School. He later transferred schools and spent his last semester of high school at Miami Northwestern Senior High School after his senior football season. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in the University of Georgia, where he played NCAA football for the Georgia Bulldogs.
He played in all 14 of Georgia’s games during his sophomore season, rushing 31 times for 188 yards and two scores and catching 16 passes for 132 yards. Cook finished as the team’s second-leading rusher in 2020 with 303 yards and three touchdowns on 45 runs. He added 16 receptions for 225 yards and two more TDs.
When the Bulldogs won the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship, James was a senior on the team. He gained 728 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground and 284 yards and four more on 27 receptions. He was chosen by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
