In 2015, he pitched in the Arizona League and for the South Bend Cubs, with a combined 2–6 record and 4.68 ERA in 17 total games (11 starts), while in 2016, he appeared for both South Bend and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, posting a combined 4–1 record and 3.25 ERA in 30 total relief appearances.
In 2017, he worked in relief for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the Tennessee Smokies, posting a combined 4–3 record and 3.28 ERA in 57+23 innings. He started 2018 with the Tennessee Volunteers before being promoted to the Iowa Cubs in June.
Norwood was promoted to the major leagues by the Cubs on July 8, 2018,, and he made his major league debut on July 11, giving up one run on three hits and one walk in 1+23 innings, taking the loss.
Following the signing of Tony Wolter, Norwood was designated for assignment on March 31, 2021.
