James Proche II plays wide receiver and is a return specialist for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League. He is 1.80 meters tall and weighs 91 kilos. He was born in Dallas, Texas, a city in the United States, on September 21, 1996. James attended Red Oak High School for his junior year before moving to DeSoto High School for his senior year due to academic problems at Prime Prep.
He caught 18 passes for 335 yards and a touchdown in his only season with the Eagles at DeSoto, although he only played in seven games because of kidney failure he contracted during summer training camp.
After leaving high school, he attended Southern Methodist University where he played football for the SMU Mustangs. Following a redshirt season as a true freshman, he participated in the season and finished second on the team with 57 receptions, 709 yards, and six touchdown catches. As a redshirt sophomore, he hauled in 40 passes for 816 yards and six touchdowns.
In his redshirt junior season, he led the team with 93 receptions for 1,199 yards and 12 touchdowns, earning him a berth on the American Athletic Conference’s first team (AAC). He was chosen by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut against the Cleveland Browns on September 13, 2020, in the season opener.
