Solomon played collegiate baseball for Alderson Broaddus University and Lackawant to College after graduating from Millville Area Junior-Senior High School in Millville, Pennsylvania. The Cincinnati Reds selected him in the 11th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft.

Solomon signed with the Reds and pitched for the Arizona League Reds, where he went 2-2 with a 4.26 ERA in 38 innings. He pitched for both the Billings Mustangs and the Dayton Dragons in 2018, starting 15 games for both clubs and posting a 4-3 record with a 3.34 ERA in 72+23 innings.



Solomon pitched for Dayton and the Daytona Tortugas in 2019, going 3-11 with a 3.98 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 26 starts and 115+ innings. He did not play in a minor league game in 2020 owing to the pandemic canceling the minor league season.

After the 2020 season, the Reds added Solomon to their 40-man roster.

After Tommy John’s surgery in 2021, he did not participate in a game.

Solomon’s contract was added to the active roster on May 7, 2022. That night, he made his MLB debut, pitching a scoreless inning in relief.
