On July 27, 2012, Segura was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers along with John Hellweg and Ariel Pea for Zack Greinke.

He was assigned to the Huntsville Stars of the Class AA Southern League, where he hit 13-for-30 in eight games before being promoted on August 6.

In 148 at-bats with the Brewers, he hit.264/.321/.331 with seven stolen bases and 14 RBIs. Segura and Braun tried a double steal after Segura hit and stole second and Ryan Braun walked.

Segura, on the other hand, withdrew to second base after Shawn Camp, the pitcher, threw to third base instead of pitching.

Both Segura and Braun were tagged while standing on second base, and according to baseball regulations, Braun was the one who was out.
