Jeimer Candelario, an American professional baseball third baseman with the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball, was born on November 24, 1993. He was previously with the Chicago Clubs.



Candelario was born in New York City, but his family relocated to the Dominican Republic when he was just five years old so that his father could establish a baseball training facility there.



Jeimer Candelario was signed by the Chicago Cubs in 2010 and made his professional debut the following year with the Dominican Summer League Cubs.

On July 31, 2017, the Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Tigers completed a transaction that sent Jeimer Candelario from the Cubs to the Tigers in exchange for Alex Avila and Justin Wilson.

The Tigers club placed him on assignment with the Toledo Mud Hens, who play in the Class AAA International League.


On July 3, 2016, he made his debut with the Cubs in the main leagues. He appeared in five games with the Cubs before being demoted to the Triple-A Iowa affiliate.

On August 7, 2017, he was elevated to the main leagues for the second time in his career. While playing for the Tigers, he had a batting average of 31 for 94, hit two home runs, and drove in 13 runs.
