Jerome Baker is well-known for playing linebacker for the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins football team. He is 102 kg and 1.88 m tall. He attended Benedictine High School, where he played on the football team that won the 2014 State Championship. He was regarded as Ohio’s second-best recruit for the class of 2015.
He had originally committed to play collegiate football for the University of Florida, but he later switched to Ohio State University. From 2015 to 2017, he played football for the Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio State. He made the decision to forego his senior year and join the 2018 NFL Draft after his junior season in 2017.
He recorded 159 tackles, seven sacks, and two interceptions throughout his college career. He was taken by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was given a four-year, $3.80 million contract by the Dolphins in June 2018, which also included a $975,200 signing bonus.
In July 2020, the Dolphins put him on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Three days later, he was removed off the waiting list. He made a team-high 16 tackles in Week 1’s game against the New England Patriots (12 solo). On June 13, 2021, he extended his contract with the Dolphins for a three-year, $39 million deal.
