In 2012, Winker made his pro debut with the Billings Mustangs. In 228 at-bats, he hit.338/.443/.500 with five home runs. Baseball America listed him as the Reds’ fourth greatest prospect prior to the 2014 season. He was promoted to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos in June 2014.



Winker and Eugenio Suárez were transferred to the Seattle Mariners on March 14, 2022, in exchange for Justin Dunn, Jake Fraley, Brandon Williamson, and a player to be identified later, eventually revealed to be Connor Phillips. Jesse Winker hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 12th inning on April 24, 2022, earning his first walk-off as a Mariner.
