Jesús Enrique Sánchez, professionally called only Jesús Sánchez is a professional baseball player from the Dominican Republic. He plays as an outfielder for the Miami Marlins baseball team of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is 1.9 m tall.
Jesús was born on October 7, 1997, in the town of Higuey in the Dominican Republic. He had his non-professional baseball moments in his country and was signed as an international free agent by the Tampa Bay Rays in June 2014.
Jesús started his professional career the following season. He spent the season playing with the Dominican Summer League Rays. He spent the 2016 minor league season with the Gulf Coast Rays and Princeton Rays.
During 2017 and 2018, he was assigned to the Bowling Green Hot Rods and the Charlotte Stone Crabs. The Rays named him to the 2018 MLB Futures Game and he played for the World team. The Charlotte Stone Crabs named him as their MVP for the 2018 season.
The Rays added him to their 40-man roster after the 2018 season. The Rays traded him in July 2019 to the Miami Marlins. The Marlins promoted him to the major leagues in August 2020 and he made his MLB debut on August 21, 2020.
