During Flacco’s time as the starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, which began in 2008 and lasted until the middle of the 2018 season, the team qualified for the postseason a total of six times, including twice as champions of the AFC North, three times as participants in the AFC Championship Game, and once as the winners of Super Bowl XLVII, which was played after the 2012 season and was won by Baltimore over the San Francisco 49ers.

Flacco was recognized as the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XLVII, capping up a postseason performance in which he tied Joe Montana’s record for most touchdown passes in a single postseason without throwing an interception.

In the offseason prior to that season, he signed a six-year contract with a total value of $120.6 million, which was a record high for a quarterback at the time.

Flacco’s performance began to deteriorate by the late 2010s, and he was eventually traded to the Denver Broncos in 2019 after a hip injury prompted him to lose his starting position to Lamar Jackson.
