Joseph Perez is an American professional baseball third baseman who currently plays for the Houston Astros in Major League Baseball. Perez was born in the United States on August 12, 1999.
He made his MLB debut in 2022. In Southwest Ranches, Florida, where he currently resides, Perez received his high school education from Archbishop McCarthy.

In the second round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, the Houston Astros selected him to join their organization. He ultimately decided to sign, despite having a commitment to play college baseball for the University of Miami.
In 2018, Perez made his major league debut with the Gulf Coast Astros, where he batted.364 in 11 at-bats. In 2019, he played fifty games with the Tri-City ValleyCats and batted.188 with seven home runs and 27 RBIs.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s cancellation of the 2020 Minor League Baseball season, he was unable to participate in any games. Asheville Tourists and Corpus Christi Hooks are where Perez began his professional baseball career in 2021.
He slashed.291/.354/.495 with 18 home runs, 61 RBIs and 34 doubles in 106 games across the three clubs. On November 19, 2021, Perez was added to the 40-man roster following the season.
The Astros promoted Perez to the majors for the first time on April 8, 2022, and he played in his first MLB game that night.
