Joely Rodrguez Sánchez (born November 14, 1991) is a Dominican Major League Baseball pitcher for the New York Mets (MLB). He formerly played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Texas Rangers, and New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Chunichi Dragons in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).
Rodrguez signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates in March 2009 for a $55,000 signing bonus. He pitched for the DSL Pirates in 2009, finishing 2–5 with a 4.60 ERA in 47 innings.
He pitched for the GCL Pirates and the State College Spikes in 2010, going 2–2 with a 4.21 ERA in 513 innings. He returned to State College for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
He pitched for the West Virginia Power and the Bradenton Marauders in 2013, going 9–8 with a 2.70 ERA in 140 innings. On November 20, 2013, he was added to the team’s 40-man roster. He pitched for the Altoona Curve in 2014, finishing 6–11 with a 4.84 ERA in 134 innings.
Rodrguez signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles on November 28, 2017. He began the 2018 season with the Norfolk Tides, where he went 5–2 with a 4.56 ERA in 49+13 innings. Rodrguez opted out of his minor league contract on July 19, 2018, becoming a free agent.
