Johan Camargo

Johan Valentn Camargo Ramos (born December 13, 1993) is a Major League Baseball infielder for the Philadelphia Phillies (MLB). He was previously with the Atlanta Braves. In 2017, he made his MLB debut.

Camargo was swiftly recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on April 11, 2017, after missing out on the Opening Day roster. He made his debut that night.

Camargo’s playing time increased in June when third baseman Adonis Garcia was placed on the injured list after two brief appearances in the major leagues. Camargo hit his first professional home run on July 9 against Matt Grace of the Washington Nationals.

Camargo lost playing time once Adonis Garcia returned from the injured list at third base; however, he immediately regained it when the Braves benched Dansby Swanson, who was subsequently relegated to Triple-A.

Camargo was hurt in August and stayed with the Gwinnett Braves until September, which allowed Swanson to return.

Camargo signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on December 1, 2021.
