The choice that was ultimately utilized to choose him was obtained by the New York Giants in a deal that also involved the transfer of Alec Ogletree. It was the first game of the season for the Rams, and he made his debut for the team against the Oakland Raiders.

He recorded the first sack of his professional career in Week 4 when the Minnesota Vikings were the opponent.

On September 1, 2019, Franklin-Myers was signed by the New York Jets after being claimed off waiver. On October 4, 2019, he was placed on the injured reserve list.

On November 27, 2019, he was moved back into the active roster after being placed on injured reserve, and he immediately resumed practicing with the team.

On the other hand, he did not become active before the conclusion of the three-week practice window on December 18, 2019, and consequently spent the balance of the season on injured reserve.

On October 7, 2021, Franklin-Myers and the Jets came to terms on an extension of their previous contract, which was worth $55 million over four years with $30.2 million guaranteed.
