John Robert Ridgeway III is an American football defensive tackle, currently playing for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League.
He was born on May 7, 1999. The Dallas Cowboys selected him with the 55th overall pick in the fifth round of the NFL Draft in 2022.
He attended Illinois State and Arkansas for his NCAA football playing careers. While attending Bloomington High School, he was a member of the football team,
where he played both offensive and defensive linemen, as well as competing in the shot put and discus events. Ryan Ridgeway, a nose guard for the Arkansas Razorbacks,
was named to the first team of All-MVFC during his redshirt junior season in 2021, which was cut short and played in the spring of that year due to the COVID-19 epidemic in the United States.
He finished the season with 39 tackles, two sacks, and four tackles for loss, which contributed to Arkansas’s 9-4 record and #21 ranking in the AP Poll for the season after the Razorbacks’ victory over Penn State in the 2022 Outback Bowl.
After the season, he announced his intention to enter the NFL Draft in 2022 after the conclusion of the season.
