Feliciano had offers from a number of universities, including San Diego State University, Florida International University, and the University of Akron, but he was determined on attending the University of Miami.

With his highlight film in hand, Feliciano attended the 2008 University of Miami spring scrimmage with the support of his best buddy Sean Cole and his coach Rashad West. Coach Tommie Robinson noticed him and offered him a scholarship to play for the University of Miami.
