He was chosen to participate in the 2015 Under Armour All-America Game despite being rated as one of the top 10 defensive ends in his class by the majority of scouting agencies.

He made a commitment to play college football for the University of Alabama after graduating from high school, but he later changed his mind and chose to play for the University of Georgia. He spent four seasons playing collegiate football for the Georgia Bulldogs at Georgia. With 122 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles, he finished his collegiate career. He was given a chance to participate in the 2019 Senior Bowl following his last college season.

On April 27, 2019, Ledbetter agreed to a free agent contract with the Miami Dolphins. On September 8, 2019, he made his NFL debut, starting at defensive end and contributing four tackles and a combined sack in a 59-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The Dolphins released him in August 2021.He was added to the practice squad of the Arizona Cardinals in September 2021. With the Cardinals, he agreed to a reserve/future contract in February 2022.
