He committed to the University of Arkansas where he played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team from 2016 to 2020.
He redshirted his first season in college. He was placed on reserve in his first two years. He recorded just 19 tackles in 23 games, including half a tackle for loss. As a redshirt junior, his playing time increased and he registered 17 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and half a sack. He finally got a chance to start in 2020 and had the best year of his career with 35 tackles and one sack.
He also had the most pressures on the squad and once had a tackle for loss in six consecutive games. At the conclusion of the season, Marshall was chosen for the second team of the SEC. The New York Jets selected Marshall in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In May 2021, he officially signed with the Jets. He was waived by the Jets on August 30, 2022 and signed to the practice squad the next day.
