Jordan Balazovic has experience pitching in the minor leagues as well as for the Canadian national team.  When the Canadian junior team traveled to the Dominican Republic in 2016, Balazovic pitched nine innings of scoreless relief.

He was rated by Baseball America as the top Canadian high schooler going into the amateur draft in 2016.

In the fifth round of the amateur draft in 2016, the Minnesota Twins selected him. After Andy Yerzy, he was the fifth Canadian taken that year and the second one to graduate from high school. Walt Burrows was the Twins scout.

He pitched for the GCL Twins in his first professional game, going 2-1 with a save, a 1.97 ERA, and a.217 opponent average. He dropped to 1-3, 4.91 in 2017 while still playing for the same team.

In 2018, he was promoted to the Cedar Rapids Kernels, where he recorded a 7-3, 3.94 records with 78 K in 61 2/3 IP. The 20-year-old relieved Brady Singer in the seventh with the AL down 2-0 and advanced to the 2019 Futures Game.

Before Cristian Pache reached on a mistake, he retired Daulton Varsho and Gavin Lux. Pache was intercepted by Balazovic to end the inning.

Balazovic was replaced by Grayson Rodriguez after the AL scored two runs in the bottom of the inning. His fastball would typically reach the mid-90s at the time, and his slider was known to be a useful pitch
