As a senior for the Tigers, Stout was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player after kicking perfect nine-for-nine on-field goal attempts and averaging 47 yards on punts.

Stout started his college career at Virginia Tech, where he joined the football team as a walk-on and then was given the opportunity to redshirt his true freshman year.

Stout was the kickoff specialist for the Hokies when he was a redshirt freshman, and he had a record of 60 touchbacks out of 71 opportunities to kick the ball.

After the conclusion of the season, Stout submitted his information to the NCAA’s transfer site and made a verbal commitment to attend Penn State, which extended an athletic scholarship to him.

Because Stout was not a scholarship player at Virginia Tech, he was instantly eligible to play for Penn State after transferring there.

During the NFL Draft in 2022, the Baltimore Ravens selected Stout in the fourth round, making him the 130th overall pick.

Following the longtime punter, Sam Koch’s retirement, it was expected that he would take over the starting role.
