The full name of Jorge Polanco is Jorge Luis Pacheco Polanco. He is an infielder for the Major League Baseball team Minnesota Twins (MLB). He stands 1.8 m tall.



He was born on July 5, 1993, in the Dominican Republic’s province of San Pedro de Macor. Following his signing by the Minnesota Twins as an international free agent, Jorge started playing baseball professionally in 2010. In 2010, he played in his first professional baseball game for the Dominican Summer League Twins.

He also participated in that season’s Gulf Coast Twins. He played with the Elizabethton Twins in the minor leagues in 2012 over the entire season. He was given a contract to play with the Cedar Rapids Kernels in the minor leagues in 2013. He played for the Leones del Escogido of the Dominican Professional Baseball League following the season.

He was added to the Twins 40-man roster in November 2013 and made his debut in the major leagues in 2014. On June 26, 2014, he made his MLB debut for the Twins. He tested positive for Stanozolol in March 2018, which resulted in an 80-game suspension. He started at shortstop for the American League in the 2019 MLB All-Star game.
