Jose Trevino is an American professional baseball catcher who currently plays for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball.

He was born on November 28, 1992, in the United States (MLB). He was traded to the Yankees before the 2022 season after making his debut with the Texas Rangers in 2018. The Rangers made their Major League Baseball debut in 2018.

Trevino received his secondary education at St. John Paul II High School, which is located in Corpus Christi, Texas.  After graduating from high school and being undrafted, he attended Oral Roberts University and played baseball for the Golden Eagles throughout his time there.

During the summer of 2013, he was a member of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He played baseball at the university level.

Joe “Bugé” Trevino, Jose Trevino’s father, passed away during Jose’s junior year at Oral Roberts University. Josiah Cruz, Trevino’s only child, was born just five days before the baseball player made his major league debut.

Trevino was selected in the sixth round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Texas Rangers. During his minor league career, he played for the Spokane Indians, High Desert Mavericks, and Hickory Crawdads.

After the 2017 season, Trevino was added to the Rangers’ 40-man roster. On June 15, 2018, against the Colorado Rockies, he made his major league debut and collected his first major league hit. On the 20th of July, 2018, he underwent season-ending surgery on his left shoulder.
