José Urquidy Age: How Old Is José Urquidy?

José Urquidy’s full name is José Luis Hernández Urquidy. He is known to be a Mexican professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher for the Houston Astros baseball team of Major League Baseball (MLB).

José grew up in Mexico in a town called Mazatlán. He played baseball non-professionally in Mexico before he was signed as an international free agent in 2015. That year, the Astros made him play with the Greeneville Astros and Tri-City Valley Cats to begin his professional career.

The following season, he played for both the Quad Cities River Bandits and Lancaster JetHawks and spent the 2017 season recovering from a Tommy John surgery. He returned to the games in 2018 and was made to play between Tri-City and the Buies Creek Astros. He started the 2019 season with the Corpus Christi Hooks and was promoted to play with the Round Rock Express during the season.

The Astros called him up to the major leagues on July 2, 2019. He made his MLB debut that day for the Astros. That year, he was the starting pitcher in Game 4 of the 2019 World Series vs. the Washington Nationals which made him just the third Mexican-born World Series starting pitcher.
