Hernández Urquidy, a pitcher with the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball, is a Mexican citizen. he was born on the first of May, 1995, in Mexico (MLB).

After signing with the Astros as an international free agent in 2015, Urquidy stayed known as Jose Luis Hernandez until the 2019 season began. After signing with the New York Mets, he made his major league debut in 2019.

Tyler Urquidy signed an international free agency deal with the Houston Astros on March 2, 2015, and became a part of the club.

On July 1 of that year, he was promoted to the professional ranks and went on to play for the Greeneville Grizzlies before being assigned to the Quad Cities River Bandits for the remainder of his professional career.

After missing all of 2017 due to Tommy John’s surgery, he returned in 2018 and threw well, going 2–2 with a 2.35 ERA in 13 appearances.

He started the 2019 season with Corpus Christi Hooks before being promoted to the Round Rock Express later in the year. As of this year, he had nine appearances.

During that time, he made seven starts and pitched 41 innings, with a 2–1 record and an ERA of 3.95. In-Game 4 of the 2019 championship series, Urquidy made his Houston Astros World Series debut against the Washington Nationals.

Among pitchers born in Mexico, he is one of three who have made a World Series starting rotation. Before returning to pitch one inning of shutout relief in Game 5, he became the first player born outside of the United States to win a World Series game.
