Josh Ball is a football player in the NFL who competes for the Dallas Cowboys as an offensive tackle. He weighs 140 kg and stands 2.01 m tall. As a senior for Stafford Senior High School, he participated in football as left tackle. He was selected for both the Conference and All-State teams. He was a four-star prospect right out of high school and signed with Florida State University to play NCAA football.
He played football for the Florida State Seminoles while attending Florida State. After enrolling at Florida for a year and being named the starting left tackle, he transferred to Butler Community College (BCC). In 2019, he chose to go to Marshall University rather than return to Florida State University.
He played collegiate football for the Marshall Thundering Herd team at Marshall University. Due to two personal foul fouls, he was dismissed from the Conference USA Championship Game against the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He opted not to participate in the 2020 Camellia Bowl in favor of beginning his NFL Draft preparations.
After the season, he received first-team All-Conference USA honors. He was forced to skip the 2021 Hula Bowl after testing positive for the COVID-19 pandemic virus, SARS-CoV-2. Ball was chosen by the Dallas Cowboys with the 138th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. On May 20, 2021, he signed his rookie contract.
