He attended St. Mary’s High School for his high school education as well as his football career. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in the University of Michigan, where from 2017 to 2021 he played college football for the Michigan Wolverines team.

He started each of the 14 games he played in as a linebacker during his senior year, and he led the defense with a team-high 106 tackles, including nine for loss and a shared sack. In order to earn his sixth varsity letter, he also intercepted two passes and hurried the quarterback eight times.

By the time he graduated from Michigan, he had the record of being a Two-time All-Big Ten honoree. In the years 2020 and 2021, his colleagues twice elected him as Team Captain. He was the 2018 Team Blue Collar Award Recipient. He played linebacker for the Wolverines for 50 games, starting 24 of them. He also earned five years of lettering. He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2022 NFL Draft.
