Michigan has shared the presence of the Ross brothers as part of their team. The other is pursuing his legacy as the next outstanding linebacker for the Ravens, while the former is a former player and a linebacker coach.

Josh Ross, however, is unable to avoid his brother’s shadow despite moving to Michigan two years after his brother graduated. The elder Joss joined the Cincinnati Bearcats team this offseason as a linebacker coach.

Who Is Josh Ross Brother, James Ross III?

James Ross III is the elder brother of Josh Ross and he was born on June 26, 1994. He is currently 28 years old. Ross III is an outside linebacker coach for Cincinnati Bearcats.

Ross joined the Bearcats from Hope College, where he was the linebackers coach for the Flying Dutchmen in 2021 and had just been elevated to defensive coordinator.

Ross and his wife Omni already have a son named Jayce, and in spring they will welcome a second kid.

From 2012 to 2015, Ross played linebacker for Michigan and started all three years. Additionally, from 2018 to 2020, he worked with the Wolverines as a graduate assistant for three seasons.

For the Wolverines, Ross played in 50 games, starting 21, and earning four letters. He has 188 tackles and 16.5 TFLs by the end of his career. The native of Orchard Park, Michigan, was selected by ESPN for the All-Big Ten Freshman Team in 2012.

After a brief time with the San Diego Chargers in 2016, who signed the linebacker out of college, Ross began coaching.

Ross served as a graduate assistant for Michigan’s linebackers and coached five current NFL players, including Devin Bush, a first-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Josh Uche, a second-round pick of the New England Patriots, Cameron McGrone, Khaleke Hudson, and Jordan Glasgow.
