Joshua Tyler Staumont (born December 21, 1993) is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Kansas City Royals.

Staumont played collegiate baseball at Biola University and Azusa Pacific University after graduating from La Habra High School in La Habra, California. He played collegiate summer baseball with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2014, earning the league title.

He was taken in the second round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Kansas City Royals, making him one of Azusa Pacific’s most highly selected players.

Staumont made his professional debut in 2015 with the Arizona League Royals before being promoted to the Idaho Falls Chukars, where he went 3-1 with a 2.48 ERA in 18 games.

Staumont pitched for the Wilmington Blue Rocks and the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in 2016, with a combined 4-11 record and 4.23 ERA in 29 games (26 starts) for both clubs. He participated in the Arizona Fall League after the season.

Staumont was promoted to the big leagues by the Royals on July 20, 2019.

On July 25, he made his major league debut, tossing two scoreless innings as a relief pitcher.

He was 2–1 with a 2.45 ERA in 2020. At 94.4 mph, balls hit off of him had the highest average exit velocity of any major league pitcher.

Staumont finished 2021 with a 4–3 record, a 2.88 ERA, and 72 strikeouts in 65+23 innings.
