He is an American football safety for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2020 following his college football career at Appalachian State.

As a senior, Thomas had a career-high 72 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, one interception return for a 16-yard score, one fumble recovery for 37 yards, and one fumble recovery. He started 30 of the 56 games and was a two-time team captain.

Following the 2020 NFL Draft on May 8, Thomas signed a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills. On September 5, 2020, he was released at the final roster cuts. The next day, he was added to the team’s practice squad.

On October 31 and November 14, he was added to the active roster for the team’s games against the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals in weeks 8 and 10, respectively, and was then returned to the practice squad following each game.
