Josiah Gray is an American professional baseball pitcher who now plays for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball. Gray was born on December 21, 1997, in the United States (MLB).
He has Major League Baseball experience, having played for the Los Angeles Dodgers. During the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, he was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the second round of the draft.
Even though Gray didn’t get any scholarship offers out of high school, he accepted his lone scholarship offer to play baseball at Le Moyne College, which is located just outside of Syracuse, New York’s city limits.
In the first two seasons of his career at Le Moyne, he served as both a shortstop and a pitcher before making the switch. He posted a.265 batting average and an 8.31 earned run average (ERA) as a rookie.
He had a 0.63 ERA as a sophomore after taking over as the team’s primary closer. In 2017, he was a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Chatham Anglers.
In 13 outings as a junior in 2018, he was 11-0 with a 1.25 ERA and dominated the competition.
