He has Major League Baseball experience, having played for the Los Angeles Dodgers. During the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, he was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the second round of the draft.

In 13 outings as a junior in 2018, he was 11-0 with a 1.25 ERA and dominated the competition.
