Jonathan Trey Brubaker is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 2020, he made his MLB debut.

Brubaker played baseball at the University of Akron after graduating from Tecumseh High School in New Carlisle. He was 5–4 with a 3.63 ERA in 15 starts during his junior year.

In the sixth round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft, he was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Brubaker signed with Pittsburgh and pitched for the West Virginia Black Bears that season, going 6–4 with a 2.82 ERA in 15 starts.

He pitched for the West Virginia Power and the Bradenton Marauders in 2016, going 6–11 with a 4.44 ERA in 26 starts for both teams, and he pitched for the Altoona Curve in 2017, going 7–6 with a 4.44 ERA in 26 games (24 starts).

Brubaker started the season with Altoona and was promoted to the Indians in May. He was 10–6 with a 2.81 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 28 games for both organizations.

The Pirates selected Brubaker their minor league pitcher of the year after the season.

After the season, the Pirates added him to their 40-man roster. He returned to Indianapolis to start the 2019 season, but due to injury, he only played in six games.

In 2020, Brubaker was named to the Opening Day roster and made his major league debut on July 26 against the St. Louis Cardinals, tossing two scoreless innings.

He had a 1–3 record, a 4.94 ERA, and 48 strikeouts in 47+13 innings in the truncated 2020 season. In 24 starts in 2021, he was 5–13 with a 5.36 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 124+13 innings.
