Justin Wilson plays professional baseball as a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team of Major League Baseball. Justin grew up in California where he had his high school amateur career at the Buchanan High School in Clovis, California.
After high school, he played college baseball for the Fresno State Bulldogs baseball team at Fresno State University. He was drafted out of college by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round of the 2008 MLB draft. He agreed to play for them and signed with the Pirates. He made his professional debut in 2009 by playing for the Lynchburg Hillcats.
In 2010, he played for the Altoona Curve and in 2011, he played for the Indianapolis Indians. The Pirates added him to their 40-man roster after the 2011 season to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. The Pirates traded him to the New York Yankees in November 2014.
The Yankees traded him in December 2015 to the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers signed a one-year contract of $1.525 million with him to avoid salary arbitration. The Tigers traded him to the Chicago Cubs in 2017 and in January 2019, he signed a two-year contract worth $10 million with the New York Mets.
Justin returned to the New York Yankees in February 2021 after he signed a one-year contract with them. They traded him in July that year to the Cincinnati Reds where he has been to date.
