He commenced his professional career with the Cleveland Indians when he was selected in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft. He recorded a throw of 127 with two thirds and Made a record of 9-4 with an ERA of 3.31

Later, on July 31, 2016, he was traded by the Indians to the New York Yankees, along with three other players, for Andrew Miller. The Seattle Mariners acquired him on November 19, 2018. On the 26th of April, 2019, he made his debut.
