Kamren Curl is a strong safety for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League. He weighs 90 kg and stands 1.88 m tall. He attended Muskogee High School, where he played football and was a three-star recruit right out of high school. He turned down offers to attend other universities in favor of the University of Arkansas.
He played collegiate football for the Razorbacks of Arkansas. He started 12 games as a true freshman cornerback before switching to safety for his sophomore campaign, during which he made 53 tackles and five pass breakups in 11 games. As a junior, he made 76 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions.
Curl was selected by the Washington Commanders in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 216th overall pick. He signed a four-year rookie deal in July 2020. He made his first career interception in Week 14 against the San Francisco 49ers, which he later returned 76 yards for a score.
With 88 tackles, 2 quarterback sacks, 3 interceptions, 4 passes defended, and 88 tackles overall, he finished the season. Curl was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list in December 2021, which made him ineligible for the team’s Week 15 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was reactivated on December 24, 2021, to the active roster.
