Kelvin Beachum is an American football offensive tackle for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at SMU and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round (248th overall) of the 2012 NFL draft.

At Southern Methodist University, Beachum was a member of the offensive line and played left tackle (SMU).

He started all four seasons for the Mustangs and was a member of their team that played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

During his time with the team, he played alongside Josh LeRibeus, who the Redskins would eventually select in the third round of the NFL Draft.

When Beachum was graduating from college, the majority of football analysts predicted that he would either be taken in the seventh round or become a priority undrafted free agent.

Despite the fact that he played tackle in college, he was regarded as the 24th best offensive guard in the country. Because of his height, many analysts and scouts had mixed feelings about where he should play.
