Kenneth Gainwell formerly represented Memphis in college football. Kenneth, an American football running back with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League, was born on March 14, 1999. (NFL).

Gainwell grew up in Yazoo City, Mississippi, and attended Yazoo County High School. He started three seasons at quarterback for the Panthers.

As a junior, he passed for 1,184 yards and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 1,292 yards and 20 scores. Gainwell declined offers from Tulane and Ole Miss to play collegiate football at Memphis during the summer before his senior year.

Towards the end of the season, he finished with six receptions for 52 yards and six carries for 91 yards and a touchdown. The Philadelphia Eagles selected Gainwell in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, 150th overall.
