He declined admittance offers from other colleges after high school in favor of enrolling in the University of South Carolina. At the University of South Carolina, he participated in collegiate football for the Gamecocks of South Carolina. He carried the ball 21 times for 179 yards and four touchdowns as a true freshman at the university.
He was selected as the Gamecocks’ starting running back just a few weeks into his second campaign. He ran the ball 185 times for 1,138 yards and 15 touchdowns during the regular season. He also hauled in 21 receptions for 159 yards and a score. He was chosen by the New England Patriots in the 2022 NFL Draft.
