Hodge is a native of D’Lo, Mississippi, and was raised together with his three siblings by his mom and granddad.
Mendenhall High School was where Hodge received his education and played football throughout his high school years.
During his junior and senior seasons at Mendenhall, Hodge passed for more than 3,000 yards passing and ran for more than 2,000 yards combined while scoring a total of 68 touchdowns.
In his sophomore year, Hodge was promoted to the starting quarterback position at Mendenhall. During his senior year, he was selected to the All-State Second Team.
Hodge started his college athletic career as a quarterback at Alcorn State but transferred following his redshirt freshman season. After one season at Hinds Community College, where he played wide receiver, he transferred to Prairie View A&M University
