Kolby Kenneth Allard is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently pitches for the Texas Rangers. He was a member of the Atlanta Braves prior team. In the first round of the 2015 MLB draft, the Braves took him with the 14th overall choice.



On August 13, 1997, Kolby Allard was born to Kenny and Kristi Allard in Anaheim, California. He has a brother who is a year or two younger than him.

Allard started playing baseball when he was five years old and began pitching at the age of ten. He attended San Clemente High School in San Clemente, California.



In 62+23 innings pitched as a junior, he had a 1.32 ERA and 98 strikeouts. He was voted MVP of the Perfect Game All-American Classic after striking out the side in the inning he pitched.

He later played for the USA Baseball 18U National Team later in the summer. After suffering a stress fracture in his back, Allard’s senior season was cut short.

Allard was expected to be a top-10 choice in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft prior to his injury. He is committed to play baseball for the UCLA Bruins in college.

Allard was traded to the Texas Rangers on July 30, 2019, in exchange for Chris Martin. After that, he was assigned to the Triple-A Nashville Sounds as an option.

Allard was promoted to the Rangers after one start for Nashville. Allard finished 4–2 with a 4.96 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 45+13 innings for Texas in nine starts.

In 2020, he struggled mightily, going 0–6 with a 7.75 ERA in 33+23 innings. In 2021, Allard went 3–12 with a 5.41 ERA and 104 strikeouts in 124+23 innings for Texas.
