Kolten Wong Parents: Meet Kaha Wong and Keala Wong

Kolten Wong

One of the professional baseball players who plays second base for the Milwaukee Brewers is Kolten Wong, real name Kolten Kaha Wong. Wong was born on October 10, 1990, to parents Kaha Wong and Keala Wong in Hawaii, America.

Wong played baseball while attending Kamehameha Hawaii High School in Keaau, Hawaii. He was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 16th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft after high school, but he declined to sign and instead decided to play college baseball for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at the University of Hawaii.

He was chosen by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft. That year, he made his professional debut with the Class A Midwest League’s Quad Cities River Bandits. In 2012, he received a promotion to the Class AA Texas League’s Springfield Cardinals.

He was chosen by the Cardinals for the 2012 All-Star Futures Game, and he participated in the Arizona Fall League during the 2012 offseason. On August 16, 2013, he played his first MLB game for the St. Louis Cardinals. Wong and the Cardinals reached a five-year contract extension in March 2016. The $25.5 million deal included a $12.5 million team option for 2021. He was signed by the Milwaukee Brewers in February 2021 to a two-year, $18 million contract.
