Kolten Wong, real name Kolten Kaha Wong, is one of the professional baseball players who plays second base for the Milwaukee Brewers. Wong was born in Hawaii, America, on October 10, 1990, to parents Kaha Wong and Keala Wong.
Wong participated in baseball while a student at Keaau, Hawaii’s Kamehameha Hawaii High School. After graduating from high school, he was chosen by the Minnesota Twins in the 16th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft. However, he decided not to sign with the team and instead chose to play for the University of Hawaii’s Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in college.
In the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft, the St. Louis Cardinals selected him. With the Quad Cities River Bandits of the Class A Midwest League, he made his professional debut that year. He was elevated to the Springfield Cardinals of the Class AA Texas League in 2012.
He played in the Arizona Fall League in the 2012 offseason and was selected by the Cardinals for the All-Star Futures Game in 2012. He debuted for the St. Louis Cardinals in an MLB game on August 16, 2013. A five-year contract extension was agreed to between Wong and the Cardinals in March 2016. A $12.5 million team option was part of the $25.5 million contract for 2021. He inked a two-year, $18 million contract with the Milwaukee Brewers in February 2021.
