The San Francisco 49ers dealt linebacker Alexander to the New Orleans Saints on November 2, 2020, in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso and a conditional fifth-round choice in the 2021 NFL Draft.
He was selected as the starting quarterback in Week 10, started the following seven games, then lost his Achilles in Week 16.
