Kyle Funkhouser

Kyle Funkhouser is a professional baseball player from America known to play as a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers baseball team of Major League Baseball. He played baseball back in high school at Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, Illinois.

He then attended the University of Louisville where he played for the Louisville Cardinals baseball team. He also played collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League where he was named a first-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and he was part of the United States collegiate national team while in college. 

After his junior year, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2015 MLB draft but he did not sign with them and continued to play college baseball at Louisville in his senior year. Kyle was drafted in the 2016 MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers. He signed with the Tigers and was given $750,000 as a signing bonus.

He was assigned to play for the Connecticut Tigers of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League that season to begin his professional career. He made his MLB debut in July 2020 for the Tigers.
