Kyle Funkhouser

Kyle Funkhouser is a well known professional baseball pitcher. He plays in the major leagues for the Detroit Tigers baseball team. Kyle had his non-professional baseball career at Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, Illinois after which he continued at the University of Louisville where he played for the Louisville Cardinals baseball team.

Before he completed college, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League where he was named a first-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

Kyle was drafted out of college by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2015 MLB draft but he did not sign with them and continued to play college baseball at Louisville till he graduated. During the 2016 MLB draft, he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 4th round of the draft. He agreed to play with the Tigers and signed with them for a $750,000 signing bonus.

He started his professional career in June that year by playing for the Connecticut Tigers of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League. The following year, he played with the West Michigan Whitecaps of the Class A Midwest League. The Tigers promoted him to the major leagues in 2020 and he made his MLB debut on July 27 2020 for the Tigers.

Kyle Funkhouser has two brothers. They are Matt Funkhouser and Joe Funkhouser. His brothers keep a low profile so there is currently no information available on who they are.
