Kyle Garlick

Kyle Bruce Garlick, an American professional baseball outfielder with the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball, was born on January 26, 1992.

He played for the Philadelphia Phillies before making his Major League Baseball debut in 2019 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Garlick played college baseball for the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos before beginning his professional career, where he set the single-season home run record.

Garlick was chosen by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 28th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. The Dodgers gave him a $1,000 signing bonus. In 60 games at four different levels in 2015, Garlick hit.349 while participating.

He started the following campaign with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the Class A-Advanced California League, where on April 19 he hit three home runs, including one inside the park. He played 49 games for the Quakes, batting.306 with 11 home runs and 37 RBIs.

He was selected to represent them at the mid-season all-star game, but due to a promotion to the Tulsa Drillers of the Double-A Texas League, he was unable to participate in the game.

Garlick was exchanged for Tyler Gilbert by the Philadelphia Phillies on February 15, 2020. Garlick was marked for assignment by the Phillies on January 18, 2021.

Garlick was taken off waivers by the Atlanta Braves on January 22, 2021. On February 5, 2021, they designated him for assignment.

Garlick was taken off waivers by the Minnesota Twins on February 11, 2021. He won a spot on the Twins’ Opening Day roster for 2021 after having successful spring training.

With a sports hernia, Garlick was added to the 60-day injured list on July 24. With the Twins, Garlick played in 36 games, slashing.232/.280/.465 with 5 home runs and 10 RBI. On November 19, 2021, he was outright removed from the 40-man roster.

On April 15, 2022, the Twins promoted Garlick back to the big leagues.
