American outfielder Kyle Alexander Lewis plays for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball. Charles and Ruth Lewis welcomed him into the world on July 13, 1995, in Snellville, Georgia, the United States.

Lewis studied at Snellville, Georgia’s Shiloh High School. In high school, he participated in basketball and baseball. He attended Mercer University, where he played college baseball for the Bears and decided to play baseball rather than basketball.

He earned the Gregg Olson Award, given to the college baseball player of the year in 2015, and was named the Southern Conference’s baseball player of the year. He also won the Southern Conference Baseball Player of the Year award for a second consecutive year, as well as the Division I National Player of the Year honours from the American Baseball Coaches Association and Baseball America in 2016.

Lewis was selected by the Seattle Mariners with the eleventh overall choice in the 2016 MLB Draft. Due to a right ACL injury, he played in just 30 games with the Everett AquaSox in his first season as a professional. He played in 2017 for both the Modesto Nuts and the AZL Mariners.

He participated in games for Modesto and the Arkansas Travelers in 2018. On September 10, 2019, the Mariners chose his contract, promoted him to the major leagues, and that same day, he made his MLB debut. Lewis was the first member of the Mariners to be chosen for the American League Rookie of the Year award in 2001 in 2020.
