Who is Kyle Schwarber?

Kyle Joseph Schwarber is a Major League Baseball outfielder for the Philadelphia Phillies in the United States.

He was a first-round pick in the 2014 MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs after playing collegiate baseball for the Indiana Hoosiers.

He debuted in Major League Baseball with the Chicago Cubs in 2015 and has since played for the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox.

He played a key role in the Cubs’ 108-year World Series victory over the Cleveland Indians in 2016.

Schwarber signed a letter of intent to play college baseball for the Indiana Hoosiers at Indiana University Bloomington.

After hitting .300/.390/.513 with eight home runs and 47 RBIs as a freshman, Schwarber was selected a freshman All-American by Louisville Slugger and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

In 61 games as a sophomore, he hit .366/.456/.647 with 18 home runs and 54 RBIs.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association selected him as a first-team All-American (NCBWA) Schwarber spent the summer after the season with the United States collegiate national team.

He hit .348/.456/.643 with 13 home runs as a junior. He was nominated for the Johnny Bench Award and was a finalist. He studied leisure sports management as a major.

Schwarber played for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League during the 2012 college offseason (CCBL).

Schwarber was named the most valuable player in the playoffs after the Gatemen won the league championship. He was inducted into the CCBL Hall of Fame class of 2019 in June of this year.
