Leonard Williams is currently in his eighth season in the NFL. The DT was initially drafted by the New York Jets, sixth overall, in the first round of the 2015 draft.



Williams was a multi-sport athlete. He had his high school education at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he was a key member of the football and track and field teams.

He contributed to Mainland’s progress to the FHSAA 6A state semifinals, when they were defeated by Miami Central 7-17 with a stat of 103 tackles and 10.5 sacks.



Williams was listed as the fifth-best strongside defensive end prospect in his class and had a rating of four stars from the recruiting website Rivals.com.

Williams played defensive linemen as a true freshman in 2012 and started nine of the team’s 13 games. He finished the season with 64 tackles, eight sacks, and an interception.

He was honored as the best defensive rookie in the Pac-12 conference. Williams was switched to defensive end from the tackle position in 2013 when he was a sophomore.

Williams was selected for the first-team All-Pac-12 and was awarded an All-American by ESPN as a result of his performance in which he recorded 74 tackles and six sacks.
